Ghost of a Chance

- With the harness meet at Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack set to open on Sunday, NewsOfDelawareCounty.com today published a little primer on the sport, for those who might not be familiar with horses pulling sulkies.

Class: Has one or more horses in the race been running decently or better against superior competition? Generally, horses running at bigger tracks are considered more valuable than their counterparts at smaller venues. For example, a horse competing for an $8,000 purse at Roosevelt Raceway in New York probably has the advantage over a standardbred pacing for a $5,000 purse at Freehold Raceway in central New Jersey.
Anyone who runs across a horse that's been running at Roosevelt Raceway is advised to proceed with extreme caution. The track closed its doors in 1988.

unless that horse is trained by Pletcher. 4 years off, might be too short for him actually
